What I Love About Teenyville
JASON GREENO // APRIL 10, 2026
While browsing The Game Crafter’s new print and play focused website, PNP Hero, I stumbled across a neat 2-player real estate developer-themed game. Teenyville (designed by RoRo Games) pits two players against each other in a ‘ruthless area control game’ with the goal of earning the most victory points.

Components You Will Need
Let’s get this out of the way from the start. Teenyville requires colored pencils, markers or erasable markers (if you sleeve the page in a sheet protector or laminate it). I grabbed this pack shown below at the Dollar General for $3 and think I’ll get good use out of them for future roll & write style games (I’ve got a Starcraft inspired roll & write game that I’m designing that will definitely use some of these!).

Additionally you will need 6 groups of 4 cubes (red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple). A couple of extra cubes or meeples to track your score. A small bag and a 4-sided die (or you can use a 6-sided die like I did and just reroll when you get 5 or 6.

Ready, Set, Build!
After a quick setup (each player fills in two roads—creating a variable game state) you are off to the races deciding to either develop a piece of land as a Public space (with parks, lakes or roads) or as a Private lot (for you to build cubes on). It’s an interesting choice out of the gate because while you still have to pay for the lot either way, if you position your Public regions in a clever way you can discount regions you want to buy later (adjacent roads decrease the neighborhood’s land value) or increase the value of your existing property (adjacent parks and lakes increase the land value).

Gameplay
As I was thinking about my strategy I noticed that the victory points are awarded in (mostly) reverse value compared to the cost of each property type (cube) you build. So a Residential cube only costs 1K to build BUT only offers 1 VP at the end of the game. To score the most you’ll want to sneak in some Municipal and Industrial buildings IF you can build them adjacent to their preferred Public land type (Roads for Industrial and Parks for Municipal).
There’s some risk and reward centered around when you choose to complete a region (with cubes on all of the available building zones) because a full region is subject to maintenance costs if the roll of the die doesn’t go your way.

Pace and Prospect
The game moves quickly and comes to completion when both players have run out of cubes. This make Teenyville not over stay its welcome and justifies its light thematic rules.
If I had one request it would be for the game to include a touch more player control over who can build where. Since a player can build anywhere as long as they are building adjacent to a marked region, it makes it hard to preplan the use of Public lands (to drive costs down or up) without fear your opponent will swoop in to snag the property you are setting up to buy on a following turn. I wonder if allowing a player to take two actions during their turn wouldn’t be a fun variant in this way?
Where to get your copy? (It’s free!)
You can find the downloadable print and play at The Game Crafter’s print and play website, PNP Hero.
Hope you enjoy. I’d love to hear your thoughts at our Discord channel.
Each week we share the new releases in the world of Print and Play. Here’s what’s new this week:
We’re going to start with two games that are not necessarily new, but newly posted at PNPHero / The Game Crafter:
Everyone has been asking about Grey Gnome Games / Jason Glover’s PNPs and Desolate is the first to pop up. It’s available now for $3.99.
There had been no communication with station 04 on the distant moon X483. A rescue mission was mounted, and you were on that ship as it lost use of its controls and crashed but meters from the station’s entrance. After the smoke cleared, you realized you were the only survivor.
You made your way into the station in hopes of finding help, only to be shocked by the horrors within. You are alone. You must escape. You must survive... Link.
9-Card Rally Run: A solo rally racing game played in 30 minutes with 9 cards, a car and 6 dice. Drive through all 9 road cards and cross the finish line with the best possible score. Roll 3 dice to determine your movements and make strategic choices to optimize your speed and safety. Link.
Dungeon Pages: Underboss - Vilsa LaPree: The year-long set has been updated with the newest boss and dungeon. What the heck is a whelk? The internet says A whelk is a predatory marine snail—a gastropod mollusk—characterized by a spiral shell and a muscular foot used for movement and hunting. Actually that sounds pretty intense. Now imagine having a cosmic being take possession of one of these sea creatures and that’s what you get to play as this week with the Corrupt Whelk! Link.
Battle Pages - Kingdom of Gallisen Marching Order 3: This is it folks! The last kingdom in the year-long Battle Pages series. The Demon Lord has arrived and its up to you to field an army that can repel the evil forces. Each month introduces a new sheet, but each week changes up the enemy’s marching order to push you to try out new strategies. Link.
